Health and Physical Education

Junior school

Physical activity is taught by a specialist PE teacher for 70 minutes a week. Students also engage in Health within these lessons that look at a range of age appropriate topics. 

In terms 1 and 4, students in Prep to year 6 access a swimming program, run by qualified learn-to-swim coaches.

​Junior secondary

HPE (Years 7–9) is organised into three strands: health; physical activity; and personal development. 

Physical activity is taught by a specialist PE teacher.

Senior secondary

Physical Education Studies (PES) – Students are given a taste of all the 4 units that are taught in senior PED. (Year 10)

Physical Education (PED) – Students look at 4 units of work over the space of two years. (Years 11 & 12) 

Health Education (HED) – Students investigate numerous community health topics across the two years of senior schooling (Year 11 & 12) 

Cert. III in Sport and Recreation – Students will work through an online provider to attain their coaching certificates, first aid & CPR and officiating certificates as well as the Cert III in Sport and Recreation (Years 11 & 12) Please click on the link 'Cert III in Sport and Rec' to see more information.​
