Student Wellbeing at Earnshaw State College

Social and emotional wellbeing is vital for academic and social development.  A supportive learning environment with a focus on wellbeing provides the best place for children and adolescents to learn. Earnshaw provides an inclusive environment which nurtures the wellbeing of all students, helping them become lifelong learners.

The Student Wellbeing Team consists of a Guidance Officer, Social Worker and Chaplain.  Team members work with young people and families across the College from P – 12.

Guidance Officer

Guidance Officers are teachers with additional qualifications in counselling, psychology, psychoeducational assessment and career guidance.  Guidance Officers work closely with teachers and other school staff to promote inclusive learning environments which support the individual needs of students.

Belinda Fraser, Guidance Officer, bfras46@eq.edu.au

Social Worker

Social Workers work with students and families by providing student counselling and group work, assessment and identification of barriers to learning, information and referral to external agencies for support outside of school and advocacy where required.
