Purchasing a laptop

To ensure the best value for money, parents/carers are encouraged to research laptops and other items (please see minimum specifications and required items for the BYOD Program) across a wide range vendors and retailers to obtain quotes  to ensure that the best possible price can be negotiated.

A low-cost laptop may not always be best option over the long term.

N.B. Google Chromebooks are not compatible with our system.

It is important to consider the "total costs of ownership" including warranty, technical support arrangements and components. Ensure that the device is suitable for use in a school BYOD program, rather than for home or business office use.

All issues with laptop purchases or technical issues need to be taken up with the vendor, not the College or the P&C.

College BYOD equity program

A limited number of College owned laptops are available in the College BYOD Equity Program for families who are not able to provide a BYOD laptop for their Year 7-12 student due to financial hardship.

Computers 4 Learning have refurbished donated devices and provide them to the community at affordable prices.

Please contact the office for further details.
