P&C volunteers receive awards

​Karen Burgess, Julianne Smith, Nancy Thompson and Jan Peterson

Four P&C volunteers have received a Lilley Australia Day award from Deputy Prime Minister, Wayne Swan at a ceremony held at Kedron Wavell Services Club on Australia Day.

Karen Burgess received her award to recognise her contribution over a ten year period including service in the uniform shop, on fund raising committees and as the P&C secretary.

Jan Peterson was presented with an award to recognise her involvement for well over a decade including roles as the P&C treasurer, with swimming clubs and with fund raising ventures.

Julianne Smith’s award recognised more than ten years of service including the uniform shop and committee, organisation of many events and as a past president of the P&C.

Nancy Thompson accepted her award to recognise her efforts over a twenty-five year period including roles and activities with the bookshop, tuckshop, community garden, school watch and animal care.

The Lilley Australia Day awards honour local individuals and businesses who volunteer their time and services to improve the community.
